Betty Crocker Poser

That's right. I've got the apron and the cook books and the motivation- but NO talent. Lately, everything I touch flops.

Example #1: I had an overabundance of chickpeas. So I learned how to soak and cook them (overrated, if I may add) and then attempted to make hummus. Needless to say, my hummus was clumpy, bland and as a friend of mine put it 'absolutely terrible'.

Example #2: At work yesterday, we received some extremely ripe bananas from a grocery store that was going to throw them away. I thought- 'Great! This is perfect for banana bread!' As you can see from the pictures, the bread overflowed from the bread pan. The top got crispy and the middle was nothing but liquid. In the end, I was able to salvage a little, but it wasn't quite the loaf of banana nut bread I was going for.

I'm thinking I should take a break? Or maybe just follow a recipe?

oooooh, molly. (recipes may be a good idea for you)

...although the salvaged-part of your bread/loaf looked kindof good?
